Your Options, Explained

We offer several distinct approaches. They are not interchangeable, and the choice should follow from assessment rather than preference.

Medically supervised weight loss

The comprehensive route, and where most patients should start. Laboratory work and clinical history first — to identify whether thyroid dysfunction, insulin resistance, PCOS, low testosterone, cortisol issues, sleep apnea, or a medication is making weight loss disproportionately hard for you. Treatment then follows what is actually found.

Prescription weight loss

Medication as part of a supervised plan, where clinically appropriate. Genuinely effective for many patients, and genuinely medical — with side effects, contraindications and monitoring requirements. Not suitable for everyone.

Structured ketogenic planning

A nutritional approach that suits some physiologies well, particularly where insulin resistance is present. It is not universally superior, and it is not sustainable for everyone.

Lipotropic and B12 injections

Sometimes used alongside a programme to support metabolic function. We will be straightforward: these support a plan, they do not drive weight loss on their own, and anyone presenting them as a standalone solution is overselling.

What is not weight loss

Body sculpting treats localized fat pockets in people already near their goal weight. It is a contouring tool. If your goal is losing weight, it is the wrong treatment and we will say so.

Why Weight Loss Is Genuinely Hard

Most patients arriving here have lost weight before and regained it. That is not a discipline failure — it is predictable physiology, and understanding it changes the approach.

Your body defends against weight loss. As you lose weight, metabolic rate falls somewhat beyond what the smaller body size alone explains, and appetite-regulating hormones shift toward hunger and away from satiety. These changes can persist long after the weight is lost. This is why maintenance, not loss, is the harder problem — and why we plan for it from the start.

Muscle loss compounds it. Losing weight without resistance training means a meaningful proportion of the loss is muscle, which lowers metabolic rate further and makes regain easier. Protein intake and strength work are part of every plan we build.

Underlying conditions are common and frequently undiagnosed. Hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, PCOS, low testosterone and sleep apnea all make weight loss substantially harder. Several common medications promote weight gain. Finding these changes everything.

How We Practice

Testing before treatment, always

No medication is prescribed here on the basis of a stated goal alone. Treatment begins with comprehensive laboratory work, a clinical history, and a physical examination. Symptoms like fatigue, weight change, and low libido have many possible causes — thyroid disease, anemia, sleep apnea, depression, and medication side effects among them — and treating a hormone that is not actually deficient helps nobody.

A physician manages your care

Dr. Daniel Moghadam oversees your weight programme personally, from interpreting your initial panel through dose adjustments. Hormone therapy is real medicine with real risks, and it needs a physician's judgment rather than a protocol.

Ongoing monitoring, not a one-time prescription

Levels are re-checked after starting treatment and periodically thereafter. Doses are adjusted based on how you feel and what your bloodwork shows — the two do not always agree, and both matter.

An honest conversation about risk

Hormone therapy has genuine benefits and genuine risks, and those differ by age, sex, personal history, and family history. You will hear both. If you are not a good candidate, we will tell you that.

Weight Loss Questions

That should follow from assessment rather than preference. Most patients should start with a medically supervised programme, because laboratory work identifies whether something physiological — thyroid, insulin resistance, PCOS, low testosterone, sleep apnea, a medication — is making it disproportionately hard. Treatment then follows what is found.

Where clinically appropriate, yes, as part of a supervised programme. These medications are genuinely effective for many patients and are also real medicine with side effects, contraindications and monitoring requirements. They are not suitable for everyone, and we will say so if they are not right for you.

Not on their own, and we will not present them as though they do. They may support metabolic function alongside a structured programme, but no injection produces meaningful fat loss by itself. Anyone selling them as a standalone weight loss solution is overselling.

No. Body sculpting reduces localized fat pockets in people already near their goal weight — it is a contouring tool and the volumes involved are far too small to address excess weight. If weight loss is your goal, this is the wrong treatment and we will steer you to the right one.

Because your body actively defends against weight loss. Metabolic rate falls modestly beyond what your smaller size explains, and appetite hormones shift toward hunger and away from fullness — changes that can persist long after the weight is lost. It is physiology, not weakness, which is why we plan for maintenance from the outset.

No. There is no single correct diet, and the best one is the one you can sustain. Structured ketogenic planning suits some patients well, particularly with insulin resistance, but others do better with a different structure.

Sustainably, around one to two pounds per week for most people. Faster loss is achievable but typically costs more lean muscle and is harder to keep off. Programmes promising dramatically more are usually producing water and muscle loss.

Yes, the initial consultation is complimentary. Laboratory work is quoted separately before anything is ordered, so you know the cost in advance.
