Am I a Good Candidate for Nonsurgical Body Sculpting?

Am I a Good Candidate for Nonsurgical Body Sculpting?

Have you ever tried toning your arms, carving your abs, or slimming your thighs, only to be disappointed by the lack of results? Exercise is key to living a healthier life, but losing fat and toning muscle in specific areas of your body isn’t easy.

Lots of people struggle with stubborn areas of fat that stick around, despite their best efforts to eat a nutritious diet and exercise regularly. Even if you’re close to your goal weight, it’s not uncommon to have a few extra inches that just won’t disappear.

The good news is, you don’t have to accept that annoying fat any longer — and you don’t have to undergo an invasive procedure to get rid of it. Nonsurgical body sculpting is a safe, effective way to eliminate excess fat once and for all.

Daniel Moghadam, MD and our team at Modern Aesthetica believe that looking your best and feeling your best are interconnected, and that’s why body sculpting is one of our most popular services. It’s time to find out if you’re a good candidate.

Body sculpting blasts stubborn fat

Our team specializes in CoolSculpting®, a method of cryo body sculpting that uses cold temperatures to target and freeze unwanted fat cells. CoolSculpting is nonsurgical and noninvasive, and it can eliminate up to 25% of treated fat cells permanently.

During CoolSculpting treatment, your aesthetician places applicators on your skin. You feel a slight sucking sensation and the system begins cooling the treatment area. Therapeutic cold freezes fat cells without damaging surrounding tissue. Freezing effectively treats fat cells, and after your session is over, your body naturally eliminates those cells to give you a slimmer look.

Along with CoolSculpting, Dr. Moghadam also offers muscle toning treatments with ModSculpt. It’s another noninvasive treatment, and it works by stimulating muscle contraction. The contractions tone and build muscle, as if you were exercising, but you don’t break a sweat.

When to consider body sculpting

Body sculpting is a popular aesthetic treatment for women and men of all ages. You could be a candidate for CoolSculpting or muscle toning if you live a healthy lifestyle, but you struggle with areas of stubborn fat that won’t go away with diet and exercise alone.

CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared to treat fat in different areas across the body, including:

CoolSculpting is a flexible noninvasive procedure, so it’s possible to have multiple areas treated for a more dramatic transformation. There’s no “right” time to consider body sculpting, but many people choose it to help them trim those last few inches after losing weight or having a baby.

What if I’m not a candidate for body sculpting?

Although our body sculpting treatments are customizable, they may not be right for everyone. You shouldn’t get CoolSculpting if you have cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease, or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria, because treatment could cause serious complications.

Body sculpting isn’t a weight-loss procedure. You may not be a candidate if you’re not near or within the ideal weight range for your height, but if you have more weight to lose, Dr. Moghadam offers custom prescription weight loss programs.

Medically supervised weight loss combines nutrition and exercise plans with medical support like prescription supplements, hormone replacement therapy, and lab work. Our team develops a personalized weight loss plan for you, and we provide the accountability you need to see real results.

No matter your aesthetic goals, we can help you achieve your goal body. Find out what CoolSculpting and muscle toning could do for you with a comprehensive consultation at Modern Aesthetica. Call our Santa Monica, California, office at 310-975-3918 or send Dr. Moghadam a message online.
