Anti-Aging in Beverly Hills

Faces do not simply wrinkle — they deflate, descend and lose skin quality. Treating one of those while ignoring the others is why results disappoint.

Four Things Happen, Not One

Understanding this is the difference between a face that ages well and one that has clearly been treated.

1. Volume loss

Facial fat pads shrink and descend, and the underlying bone remodels — the eye socket widens, the jaw loses definition. This is why faces look hollow and drawn before they look wrinkled. Addressed with fillers or Sculptra.

2. Movement lines

Repeated muscle contraction folds skin until the crease becomes permanent. Addressed with Botox, which works best before lines are deeply etched.

3. Skin quality decline

Collagen and elastin degrade, largely from UV exposure. Texture roughens, pores enlarge, pigment becomes uneven. Addressed with RF microneedling and related treatments — not by injectables.

4. Descent and laxity

Tissue drops as supporting structures weaken. Mild to moderate cases respond to thread lifts; significant laxity is a surgical problem.

Why this matters practically

A patient who only ever receives Botox will, after a decade, have smooth movement lines on a face that has hollowed and lost skin quality. A patient who only receives filler ends up over-volumized. Good long-term results come from addressing whichever component is actually driving the change at that point.

The Internal Component

Aesthetic treatment addresses appearance. Some of what patients experience as ageing is physiological and worth investigating rather than covering.

Hormonal change affects skin thickness, collagen production, body composition, energy and sleep. Declining estrogen accelerates collagen loss measurably in the years around menopause; declining testosterone affects muscle mass and energy. Hormone assessment is sometimes the more useful conversation, particularly where fatigue and body composition changes accompany the visible ones.

Sleep, alcohol, smoking and sun exposure influence how quickly faces age far more than most treatments compensate for. Smoking in particular degrades collagen and constricts the microvasculature — no injectable offsets it.

We would rather have this conversation honestly than sell a treatment plan that works around a modifiable cause.

How We Work

Assessment before product

We start with your skin — thickness, laxity, pigment behaviour, scarring, sun history, and how it has healed from previous treatment. The plan follows from that rather than from whatever device we happen to own.

A physician oversees treatment

Dr. Daniel Moghadam performs and supervises these treatments personally. Device settings and treatment depth are clinical decisions, particularly in deeper skin tones where the wrong parameters cause lasting pigment change.

Courses, not miracles

Skin quality changes through collagen remodelling, which takes months. We will tell you how many sessions something realistically needs rather than implying one appointment transforms your skin.

What Actually Ages Well

From treating faces over years, some consistent observations.

Consistency beats intensity. Modest treatment two or three times a year over a decade produces better results than dramatic correction every few years. It also tends to cost less overall.

Treat structure before surface. Restoring mid-face support often improves the folds below it without treating them directly. Filling a fold while ignoring the deflation causing it produces a heavy result.

Preserve what is characteristic. The features that make you recognizable are worth protecting. Treating every face toward the same template is what produces the look people are trying to avoid.

Start conservatively. It is far easier to add than to undo — particularly with Botox, which cannot be dissolved, and with collagen stimulators, which are not reversible.

Anti-Aging Treatment Questions

There is no single best treatment, because ageing involves four separate processes — volume loss, movement lines, skin quality decline, and tissue descent. The right treatment depends on which is actually driving what you are seeing. A patient who only ever gets Botox will eventually have smooth movement lines on a hollowed face with poor skin quality.

It depends on what you want to prevent. Preventative Botox in the late twenties or thirties reduces the muscle activity that etches lines permanently. Skin treatments and sunscreen matter at any age. Volume restoration typically becomes relevant later. We will tell you honestly if we think you do not need something yet.

Spread it out. Consistent modest treatment over years produces better results than dramatic correction, and it usually costs less overall. It also avoids the situation where a face changes noticeably between social occasions — which is what people actually notice.

Yes, measurably. Declining estrogen accelerates collagen loss in the years around menopause, and hormonal changes also affect skin thickness, body composition and energy. Where fatigue and body composition changes accompany visible ageing, hormone assessment is sometimes the more useful conversation.

Not if treatment is dosed to your anatomy and reviewed before more is added. The overdone look comes from treating one component repeatedly — usually volume — rather than addressing what is actually changing. We treat conservatively and review at two weeks.

Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen. Most of what people experience as facial ageing is cumulative UV damage, and preventing further damage costs very little while protecting whatever else you invest in. Not smoking is the second.

Not necessarily, but non-surgical treatment has limits. Significant skin laxity and heavy jowling are surgical problems, and thread lifts or energy treatments will underdeliver against them. If you reach that point, we will tell you rather than sell you something that cannot achieve what you want.

It depends entirely on which components need treating and how often. Rather than a package, we map a realistic plan at consultation with costs attached so you can decide what to prioritise. Consultations are complimentary.
