A firm, dependable lifting filler for cheeks that have flattened — and one of the few fillers FDA-cleared to restore volume in the hands.
Restylane Lyft is a robust hyaluronic acid gel designed to lift. Its larger particle size and firmer consistency let it project tissue forward from a deep plane, which is exactly what a flattened cheek requires.
Restylane products use a technology called NASHA — non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid — which produces a firmer, more granular gel than the smoother Juvederm range. In practice that firmness translates to reliable structural support, particularly over bone.
Hands are a genuine giveaway that most people never address. As the fat layer thins, tendons and veins become prominent and the skin looks crepey. Lyft restores a cushion of volume across the back of the hand, softening that skeletal appearance. It is a quick treatment with a striking effect, and it is routinely overlooked by patients who have spent years maintaining their face.
Because Lyft is hyaluronic acid, it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if a correction is ever needed.
Filler is not a commodity procedure. Where product sits relative to bone, muscle, and vasculature decides whether a result looks refreshed or overdone. At Modern Aesthetica the founder and medical director, Dr. Daniel Moghadam, performs the injections himself rather than delegating to a technician.
We do not begin with a product. We begin with what is actually happening in your face — where volume has gone, how your skin behaves when it moves, how light falls across your cheekbones. The right filler follows from that. Sometimes the answer is a different treatment entirely, and we will say so.
We would rather place less and refine at your follow-up than overfill. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved if needed, but a face that has been overcorrected takes real time to recover its proportions.
Fillers are priced per syringe. You will know how many syringes are planned and what the total is before anything is injected. Current offers are on our promotions page.
Dr. Moghadam assesses your facial structure at rest and in motion, identifies where volume has been lost, and explains which product suits that tissue and why.
Most fillers contain lidocaine, and we apply topical numbing beforehand. Comfort is genuinely manageable for the great majority of patients.
Product is placed through a fine needle or a blunt cannula depending on the area. Most treatments run 20 to 45 minutes.
You will see the change in a mirror before you leave. Mild swelling is normal and settles over several days.
We assess the settled result and add product only if an area genuinely needs balancing.
Expect some swelling and the possibility of bruising — this is an injection, and the face is vascular. Most swelling resolves within three to five days, and the result you will keep is visible at about two weeks.
Call us at (213) 895-4730 if you develop unusual pain, blanching or dusky discoloration of the skin, or vision changes. These are rare, but they are treated urgently — one more reason to be injected by a physician.
Most patients find it very manageable. Nearly all modern fillers include lidocaine, and we apply topical numbing cream before starting. You will feel pressure and a brief pinch at each entry point. Lip treatments are the most sensitive area and we take extra care there.
Most people return to work the same or next day. Expect mild swelling for three to five days, and possible bruising for up to a week. If you have an important event, book at least two weeks ahead so the result has fully settled.
Hyaluronic acid fillers — the Juvederm and Restylane families — can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, usually within a day or two. This is a meaningful safety advantage and one reason we favor HA products for most patients. Collagen stimulators such as Sculptra are not reversible, which is why we dose them gradually.
Pricing is per syringe, and how many syringes you need depends on the area and the degree of volume loss. Lips typically take one syringe; restoring mid-face volume often takes two or more. We give you the exact syringe count and total at your complimentary consultation, before any treatment begins. Call (213) 895-4730 to schedule.
Roughly twelve months in the cheeks and mid-face for most patients, and around six months in the hands, where the tissue is thinner and more mobile. Some patients see closer to eighteen months in the cheek depending on dose and metabolism.
Yes — it is one of a small number of fillers FDA-approved specifically for restoring volume in the back of the hands. It replaces the fat cushion that thins with age, which softens the appearance of prominent tendons and veins. Treatment is quick and the change is often more noticeable than patients expect.
Neither is universally better; they suit different tissue. Lyft is firmer and more granular, which some patients prefer for definition over bone. Voluma is smoother and more cohesive, and often lasts slightly longer in the cheek. Voluma is not approved for hands. Dr. Moghadam recommends based on your skin thickness, degree of volume loss, and the firmness you want.
Not meaningfully. Lyft is available with lidocaine included, and we apply topical numbing first. Firmer fillers are placed deeper, often against bone, and many patients actually find deep placement more comfortable than superficial injections.
